The fish rots from the head

The fish rots from the head, so they say.

There can be no truer expression when it comes to the utter chaos engulfing the MCA today.

It is currently headed by a leader so completely lost
in the thirst for power that he gives short shrift to the fact that the majority of party members have no confidence in him and wants him out.

He has conveniently ignored the fact that it was he who promised to step down as President of the party should he lose the confidence vote. He lost but he remains in power.

This makes him a liar and liars do not deserve any leadership positions.

There are those that say that a motion of no confidence being passed does not mandate the removal of the President because the Constitution requires a two-third majority for this. Therefore, the motion of no confidence simply means that the President may continue being President but that he needs to govern differently.

Let us not get into absurd arguments such as the above. A motion of no confidence means just that. You get hit by one, you step out and the choice is yours if you want to get back in again through fresh elections.

Then we have the so-called current Deputy President who committed adultery, admitted to it and then has the further gall to say that all is now well because he has served his time out from the party.

The cold hard facts are these. He cheated on his wife. He violated the sanctity of marriage which most Malaysians still hold dear to unlike Western countries where marriage is nothing but a piece of paper.

Cheaters and violators of institutions that go back time immemorial do not deserve any leadership positions.

The saddest fact about this whole fiasco is this. The only way for the MCA to resolve its multitude of problems is to clear the decks through fresh elections. Unfortunately, those in power are trying to do everything within their capability to prevent this from happening.

The members are the supreme power of any democratic organization. If there is a dispute that so clearly cannot be solved without unholy compromises, then the membership must be consulted to resolve matters once and for all.

  1. Prior to 1010, non of the 1128 supporters have chosen to distance from "collective resposible & accoutable" advocated by OTK.

After 1010, no one recalls the collective decision anymore.

Yes, the head rotted, Liow, wee & Mee Hon followed suit.

  2. OTK not only lost in the vote of no confidence in MCA, he has also lost the confidence of the members had in him. The members are hoping that their leader is a leader who meant what he said and say whjat he mean. However after the 101009 EGM, the leader that they look up to has complete switch from the man of principle to a man who swallow the medicine of his own priscription. He used to say that his opponent was a man who seek help of outsider to dethrone him, his opponent is a man who a shame to the party but now what he has done is of his own doing out of his own intention. Ignoring the decision of the party's highest body that is the EGM.

In fact one can see if proper study is conducted that in the very first place he is the man who has maneuvered the party constitution in his own liking and preference which is unconstitutional and immoral.
